The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has released a 4 part video series covering $1.8 Billion in Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grants.

VIDEO 1

This video is part one of a four part series of webinars which cover fiscal and programmatic requirements of the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant (SABG). Session #1 is an overview of the SABG for providers. Presenters are Larry Robertson, Project Director of the SAMHSA State PA Project and Rick Nance, Deputy Director of Business and Fiscal Operations for the Illinois Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse. CSAT Performance Partnership Grant State Project Officers (SPOs) provide clarification during the session.

This video is part two of a four part series of webinars which cover fiscal and programmatic requirements of the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant (SABG). Session #2 focuses on the requirements which funded SABG providers must meet regarding pregnant women. It also reviews the requirements for SABG providers who receive funding for maintenance of effort and special services for pregnant women and women with dependent children. The presenter is Pam Petersen-Baston, Technical Expert Lead- Adolescent Portfolio with JBS International. CSAP Performance Partnership Grant State Project Officers (SPOs) provide clarification during the session.

This video is part three of a four part series of webinars which cover fiscal and programmatic requirements of the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant (SABG). Session #3 focuses on the requirements which funded SABG providers must meet regarding providing SABG priority populations (including pregnant women, women with children and people who inject drugs) access to treatment. It also reviews capacity management systems and activities (e.g. time frames for admission, interim services, tracking and maintaining contact prior to admission) regarding providing access to treatment for priority populations. The presenter is Larry Robertson, Project Director of SAMHSA’s State TA Project. CSAT Performance Partnership Grant State Project Officers (SPOs) provide clarification during the session.

This video is part four of a four part series of webinars which cover fiscal and programmatic requirements of the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant (SABG). Session #4 focuses on the fiscal and financial requirements which impact SABG-funded provider organizations. It reviews SABG funding bases, set-aside funds, maintenance of effort requirements, single state audit sub-recipient monitoring and restrictions on SABG expenditures. The presenter is Rick Nance, Deputy Director of Business and Fiscal Operations for the Illinois Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse.
